Steps for activating WebOffice ePaper Functionality in WebOffice

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Only dynamic ePaper configuration will be supported from WebOffice 10 R3.

But it's still possible to configure ePaper handled through an ePaper service with fixed content (special cases). The following chapter contains information on how to configure it with fixed content. For configuring a dynamic ePaper see chapter Steps for activating dynamic WebOffice ePaper Functionality (similar to Dynamic Printing).

Note: The attribute Use dynamic ePaper? will be set to Yes when upgrading to WebOffice 10 R3. See also Upgrade Documentation.

Using a non-dynamic ePaper service you have to do the following setting.

Use non-dynamic ePaper

Use non-dynamic ePaper

Verify that the respective ArcGIS Server map service (either the configured main map service of the project or the specific map service configured for it) has the WebOffice ePaper extension activated and configured correctly

Note: The map service has to be dynamic to support full ePaper functionality. Using a cached map service will disable selection display.

Note that the ‘Report path’ to be configured in the property page of the map service capability named WebOffice ePaper is a server side path. It is typically <GeoOffice ePaper installation directory>\Configuration\ePaper. All ePaper report templates (.mrt files) are located there.

Verify if in the related WebOffice 10 R3 project configuration, the tool WebOffice ePaper is configured to be used

There are two supported configuration scenarios

You may either configure no WebOffice ePaper template in WebOffice author at all. Then WebOffice 10 R3 will provide all available ePapers. Anyway in a layer specific search result it will only make available the report templates for this specific layer,

You can explicitly configure WebOffice ePaper template elements in WebOffice author. Then WebOffice 10 R3 will only provide the ePapers that have been configured explicitly in the WebOffice 10 R3 project configuration.

Concerning internationalization and multi language support as well as function fields, WebOffice ePaper is very similar to WebOffice plotten. See chapter Printing for details on how to configure multi language function fields etc., see WebOffice author context help for configuration elements respectively attributes as well.
