Predefined Queries

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Predefined queries are very useful to provide an intuitive and easy to use approach for the user for searching specific objects based on specific search criteria.

It is possible to specify multiple Predefined queries for each Layer / Table.

In a predefined query it is possible to specify which fields to provide in the query and for each of the fields,

Which type of input control to use,

If input is mandatory or not,

Which search operator to use,

On which hierarchical level the field is to be used,

Which logical operator to use.

Image search icon

URL of the image used as search icon and for marking the search result list (currently WebOffice flex only). File extension (e.g. .gif or .jpg) must be included. Image file must have size 24x24 pixels.

First gradient color

Note: The following color values are recommended for the skin 'navajowhite3':

80,80,80

144,140,137

Second gradient color

Text hover color

Default search result

Default search result used for displaying Search results.

Search category

Assign the predefined query to a search category defined in the List of Search Categories.

Access control ID

Access control ID needed for access control based on usermanagment module.

If an ID is configured here (eg 'QUERY_OWNER_BY_ADDRESS') and WebOffice usermanagement module is used then the user role is checked whether it provides the necessary application right or not (according to the example the application right would be QUERY_OWNER_BY_ADDRESS). If the necessary application right is not available then the stored query will not be available in WebOffice.

Note: More details to usermanagement based restrictions can be found in Create a Restriction on an Predefined Query

Filtering search

Enables ('Yes') or disables ('No') the filtering search function. With enabled filter search function only objects listed in the search result are displayed.

Note: The Filter function only works for layers of dynamic map services. Layers from cached map services cannot be filtered, because they are already calculated for the tiles. The Filter function neither works for the hybrid mode scenario (linking MXD and MSD service together).

One-Click Query

Enables ('Yes') or disables ('No') the One-Click Query

Note: In some cases it is useful to configure a One-Click Query. So users are able to execute a predefined query by one interaction.

See chapter One-Click Query for details.

Merge search fields?

Merge all search fields into a text input box ('Yes') or display each search field separately ('No').

See chapter Connected Address Search for more details on how to configure a useful query with this option.

Note: Using the option 'Merge search fields' indicates that there is no possibility to use a value list with auto complete.

Permit spatial attributive search function?

Enables ("Yes") or disables ("No") the spatial attributive search function. The Search is restricted to the current selected map extent. The function will be available as a checkbox in the query dialog

Permit spatial attributive search function

Permit spatial attributive search function

Note: The spatial attributive search function also works together with a one-click query configuration. If this parameter is set to "Yes" in combination with the one-click query the spatial attributive search function is activated and the one-click query will search in the current spatial extent.

Spatial attributive Search activated per default?

Activates ("Yes") or deactivates ("No") the spatial attributive search function per default.

Use in clients without search form?

Activates ('Yes') or deactivates ('No') this search for client which are not capable of displaying multi-field search forms (e.g. mobile client).
