Markup

The Markup tool provides functionality to make map notes, which can be used for easy exchange of drawing sketches via E-Mail. The Markup style can either be defined directly in the tool dialog or selected out of several pre-configured markup styles.

Note: In order to avoid problems with redlining drawings and labels on the print, we recommend to adjust settings on the layer of the MXD as described in chapter Print Labels.

Property

Description

Use tool?

Specify whether this Tool is available in the WebOffice client (Yes) or not (No).

Support orthogonal measuring?

Specify whether three points for orientation help and support of perpendicular measuring with the measure distance tool (see chapter Measure Distance) is used (Yes) or not (No).

Markup text length

Maximum Markup text length.

Font

Font for Markup text.

Font style

Font style for Markup text.

Text size

Default text size (font size).

Text color

Color of Markup text.

Use background color?

Use text background color as default (Yes) or not (No).

Background color

Text background color.

Outline color

Outline color of text background box.

Line width / point  size

Line width respectively point size in pixels.

Shape color

Color of point/line/area freehand shape.

Fill color

Fill color of area shape.

Transparency level of fill color

Transparency level of fill color [0..100%].

Show style dialog

Specifies whether the style dialog is visible (Yes) in the tool form or not (No).

Measure use background color?

Use text background color for display of measured values (Yes/No)

Note: Ensuring to draw a more accurate circle, i.e. 'draw circle' , the 'draw circle' option supports to enter the necessary circle radius. The changes are set by clicking on the Set-button.

 

Editing & Deleting Markups

 

To edit or to delete specific measure/markup elements, all elements, no matter of which type they are, are listed in the Current Objects section of the markup tool dialog. The selected object is displayed in the map with a blinking green dot to identify it.

Three actions are possible:

Delete the selected object by pressing the "x" button

Zoom to the selected object by pressing the magnifier button

Edit the selected object by pressing the pencil button

In order to change an existing text markup select the desired object and activate the edit mode (1), type in the new redlining text (2) and finally place the new text into the map (3). The old text will disappear in favor of the new text which can be replaced as many times as long as it has not been finished with a double click.

If you want to rotate a text markup retrospectively, activate the edit mode (1), open the context menu with a right click on the green vertex and press "Rotate Text" (2). Then choose the desired rotation and finish with a double click (3).
