In order to install WebOffice 10R3 (is to be conducted by SynerGIS Informationssysteme GmbH) there are some preconditions and system requirements which have to be taken into consideration. All installation components mentioned below in the list will be provided by SynerGIS Informationssysteme GmbH during the installation.

Java 1.6 will be used on the web application server. J2DK 1.6.0_37 is certified for WebOffice 10R3 and will be installed prior to the WebOffice 10R3 installation on the web application server (Default path: C:\Program Files\Java).

Apache Tomcat is recommended and certified as the servlet engine for WebOffice 10R3 . Therefore, prior to the installation of WebOffice 10R3, the certified version Tomcat 6.0.36 (64bit) will be installed by SynerGIS on the web application server (recommended default path: C:\Tomcat).

Note: Java JDK 7 (Update 60) and Apache Tomcat 7.0.54 are supported by WebOffice 10R3 SP5.

Note: In order to meet the memory requirements of WebOffice 10R3 the default memory settings (Maximum Memory Pool) of the JVM used by Tomcat have to be increased. This is not a WebOffice 10R3 specific settings but applies to all Java web applications in general.

Apache Tomcat Connector (ISAPI Redirector) will be installed to use IIS as web server for WebOffice 10R3 projects. This way, WebOffice 10R3 projects cann be accessed via port 80 instead of the Tomcat default port (8080). For WebOffice 10R3 the Tomcat ISAPI Redirector 1.2.35 is certified (default path: C:\Tomcat\bin\win).

With installation of WebOffice 10R3 the following software will be installed additionally:

WebOffice AGS Utilities (C:\Program Files(x86)\SynerGIS\WebOffice AGS Utilities)

WebOffice author (C:\Program Files(x86)\SynerGIS\WebOffice author for ArcGIS 10.0)

WebOffice extensions (WebOffice plot extension, WebOffice ePaper, WebOffice extract server, C:\Program Files(x86)\SynerGIS\GeoOffice)

WebOffice usermanagement (C:\inetpub\wwwroot\UserManagementAdmin)

System Requirements for WebOffice usermanagement

In order to use WebOffice usermanagement there will be installed an autonomous application "UserManagement Admin Web" on the web application server which manages roles or group based rights for WebOffice 10R3 and other products based on the SynerGIS right repository. The following points have to be prepared prior to the installation of WebOffice usermanagement:

Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager 5.1 or higher is required for the UserManagement Admin Web application.

Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 is required for the UserManagement Admin Web application.

Database schema has to be prepared. WebOffice usermanagement supports MS SQL and ORACLE databases. In case an ORACLE database will be used be sure to install an

oOracle OLEDB provider on the server where WebOffice author will be installed in order to be able to connect to the ORACLE database

oOracle client on the server where the UserManagement Admin Web application will be installed in order to be able to connect to the ORACLE database.

Important Note: The SynerGIS UserManagement Admin Web application uses a 32bit application pool. Therefore, install a 32bit Oracle client! On the other hand Java and Tomcat componants will installed in 64bit for WebOffice 10R3, therefore, install also 64bit Oracle client!

UserManagement Admin Web will create the data model in the prepared database automatically given that the following conditions are met:

oan existing database schema

oa database user who has the right to create and edit tables (insert, update, delete, select)

oit is recommended to use the schema owner for it

ofor operational use (administration and reading of user rights) there has to be configured a user with at least read (select) and write (insert, update, delete) rights. It is possible to use the same user as for the creation of the data model.

Install a text editor like UltraEdit32, PSPad or Notepad++ that is able to edit UTF8 text files. This is necessary to edit the web.config file (configuration file of the UserManagement Admin Web application).

Note: This is just a brief summary about the requirements of WebOffice usermanagement. For detailed description and information, please see SynerGIS UserManagement Admin Web 10R3.pdf.
