Before going on, please ensure you have read chapter WebOffice author (Administrative computer) and followed the instructions in chapters WebOffice author and Set ArcGIS Server Administration account in WebOffice application configuration. If you did so then WebOffice author is ready for creating or opening a WebOffice 10 R3 project configuration.
Ensure that you have opened the ArcMap document that you want to use as a basis for your WebOffice 10 R3 project.
Click the SynerGIS WebOffice author toolbar button for launching WebOffice author.
Note: Especially if you create WebOffice 10 R3 project configurations which make use multiple different ArcGIS Server services based on different ArcMap documents (.mxd file) it is important to know that WebOffice author is able to connect to the currently opened MXD file only, i.e. if you want to change configuration concerning an ArcGIS Server service or a Layer which comes from a different MXD, then you need to open this specific MXD file first. Otherwise WebOffice author is not able to provide support for listing Layers and Fields.
Note that the Windows user account you are logged in for working with WebOffice author must be a member of the local ‘agsadmin’ users group on the ArcGIS Server machine.
