Generate a Print MXD for Performance Analysis

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Using dynamic printing has many advantages concerning performance issues. For debugging print performance issues, it is sometimes useful, to review the dynamically generated SynPlotService.mxd. Usually the SynPlotService.mxd gets emptied after the print output is generated, but using the client side debug console, the MXD equipped with a timestamp is stored. Steps to do are:

Open the project

Click into the status bar

Press Ctrl + Alt + D to open the client side debug window

Check the option "Display Cache- and Extent Information"

Generate the print output

Browse the target ArcGIS output folder of the main map service (c:\arcgisserver\arcgisoutput by default)

Folder will contain a file called dynamicWOprint_<timestamp>.mxd
