Using Custom function fields it is possible to specify and use additional Function fields (beyond the predefined ones) in a very flexible way.

i.Specify the ID of field value in WebOffice author

In the example the Custom function field is specified for print template A4_portrait.

Function field 'my_custom_fieldvalue'

Function field 'my_custom_fieldvalue'

ii.Open the Layout file A4_portrait.layout using WebOffice plot author

Add a random Function field to the Layout using WebOffice plot author toolbar.

Insert User text button in WebOffice plot author toolbar

Replace the name of the predefined function field to the field value specified in WebOffice author on every tab of the field properties menu.

After updating/refreshing the changed server resources (see chapter How to update your WebOffice Project) the Print tool form in WebOffice 10 R3 client will look like this:

Print tool form with input field for Custom function field my_custom_fieldvalue

The resulting output of the Custom function field looks like this:

Print output file with Custom function field my_custom_fieldvalue

WebOffice plot author also offers the opportunity to set up a predefined function field. The information content is derived from the AD (Active Directory) and also readout from the LDAP - system. The function can be applied using the User Management Application (see also Chapter User Properties).
