The Print tool enables users to generate high quality print documents:
•Support for various different file formats (support for web optimized PDF, i.e. small PDF documents that are generated quickly and are easy to handle),
•Print head with dynamic function fields (predefined fields and custom fields),
•Rotated plots,
•Plots with tabular data of objects (simple reporting),
•Plots with tabular data of objects including detail map for each object,
•Plots with data fields – field position and layout can be configured however you want,
•Create print series - specify an overall plot extent interactively in the map or create a series from a selection,
•Administration of plot templates (.layout files) is easy and intuitive using SynerGIS Plotten admin (based on ArcMap).
See Getting Started for a quick start into printing with WebOffice 10 R3.
See WO plot author_User Manual 10 R3 SP1.pdf for how to administer print templates (.layout files).

Printing configuration
Property |
Description |
Use tool? |
Specify whether this Tool is available in the WebOffice client (Yes) or not (No). |
Default output format |
Default print file output format. It is recommended to specify PDF (web optimized) as Default output format. |
Allow rotated print? |
Defines, if the user is allowed (Yes) or not allowed (No) to rotate the print extent in the tool form. |
Use dynamic printing? |
Defines, if printing is handled through a print service with dynamic content (Yes) or through a print service with fixed content (No). Important Note: Using dynamic printing further configuration steps are necessary. Refer to chapter Dynamic printing setup for details. |
Print overview dynamically? |
Specifies, if printing of overview map is handled dynamically ('Yes'), i.e. the content and extent of the overview map currently displayed in the WebOffice client will get rendered into the plot document. Hint: If option 'Yes' is used, then a print map service must be configured for the print tool that contains an empty dataframe called 'overview'. |
Printing configuration
There are two supported scenarios concerning the Print configuration:
•No explicit print template configuration: All print template files available in the template directory configured in the WebOffice plot extension extension (ArcGIS Server extension) are available as print templates,
Note: This scenario is recommended if you want to quickly provide Print functionality in the WebOffice 10 R3 client.

Easy Print configuration without explicitly specified print templates
•Explicit print template configuration. Only print templates explicitly configured in WebOffice author are available in the Print tool form.
Note: For high quality printing it is necessary to explicitly configure print templates.
