ArcGIS Server Output Service

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The ArcGIS Server Output Service represents the central output service which is used for various WebOffice 10.8 SP2 operations such as printing, ePaper reports, extract server, reprojection, etc. The central output service can be replaced by other specific output services that can be configured for e.g. the print tool or map services that use different projections.

Note: The output service needs the WebOffice Server Object Extension to be activated. Find details regarding the activation of the Server Object Extension in chapter Activate SOE on a Map Service.

ArcGIS Server Output Service configuration

ArcGIS Server Output Service configuration

Property

Description

Server

Specifies URL of the ArcGIS Server Output Service.
Example:

http://<myserver>/ArcGIS/rest/services/SynOutputService/MapServer

Note: In general, the output service will be configured already during creating the WebOffice 10.8 SP2 project with the Create Project wizard. Find more details in chapter New Project.

Note: In case you are using map services with a ArcGIS Web Adaptor, it is recommended to configure the ArcGIS Server Output Service also via ArcGIS Web Adaptor (e.g. http://<server>/<webadaptor name>/rest/services/SynOutputService/MapServer) to guarantee high quality prints.

Service name (GUI)

Service name of the service displayed in the GUI.

Metadata URL

Configure a reference to a metadata document (must be available via HTTP) as URL.

Note: You may configure the unique Metadata document identifier (UUID) of a Catalog Service (CSW 2.0) here. In this case you must configure the SOAP interface of the Catalog Services in Metadata Display.

Hinweis: Word wrap can be accomplished with a "\n".

Note: The service specific copyright will only be displayed if the map element Copyright is configured.

Note: Detailed information about the use of these attributes can be found in chapters Template (File Name) and WebOffice ePaper Template (File Name).

Geographic Transformation Code/String

Geographic transformation code from WGS84 to the map coordinate system. Can be reviewed

either in
- ArcGIS_Desktop_Installation_Folder\Documentation\
geographic_transformations.pdf

- or in VertiGIS projection helper

If a custom transformation is used, the transformation string with parameters can be used. Copy and paste from the .gtf file is recommended.

Note: If a geotransformation is already defined on the dataframe of the main map service, the geotransformation configured here will not be applied.

Service user

User login for accessing the ArcGIS Server service (ArcGIS service user) in case access to the service has been restricted in ArcGIS Server Manager.
