Windows Firewall

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

By default, on Windows 2008 Server and other OS, Windows Firewall is active.

On the GIS Server you need to provide some Esri ArcGIS Server specific entries in order to enable inter process communication between ArcSOM.exe and ArcSOC.exe processes.

Enter the following applications as exceptions for inbound and outbound connections:

- ArcSOM.exe (i.e. c:\program file (x86)\ArcGIS\server10.0\bin\ArcSOM.exe)

- ArcSOC.exe (i.e. c:\program file (x86)\ArcGIS\server10.0\bin\ArcSOC.exe)

- ArcSOCMon.exe (i.e. c:\program file (x86)\ArcGIS\server10.0\bin\ArcSOCMon.exe)

and open the Port: 135 (TCP/UDP) for the DCOM access of the ArcGIS Server.
