If e.g. the user wants to identify objects form layer Verkehrsunfälle, the user first selects the layer context menu that the layer could be identified.

WebOffice 10 R3 then opens the Identify tool form and preselects the WMS layer. For enabling the user to uniquely identify the WMS layer by its name, the suffix ‘(WMS)’ gets added to the layer name caption.

The user may then click on an object in the map to identify it and retrieve attribute data for this object from the WMS service.

Note that you can make use of the ‘Mode’ button in the Identify tool form for e.g. adding objects to your current selection one by one or subtracting objects from your existing result set.

Note that you can use specific search result toolbar tools for e.g. exporting the current object selection as comma separated values (.csv) file to Excel or other spreadsheet programs.

Note that the way WebOffice 10 R3 client is able to display the results of the WMS Identify operation is dependent on the way the OGC WMS service provides the information. Some OGC WMS services will provide Identify results as

XML – if the XML is well structured then WebOffice 10 R3 client will display the results like shown below. The user is able to use some specific WebOffice search result toolbar functions then,

HTML (or XML that can’t be parsed by WebOffice 10 R3) – WebOffice 10 R3 will then just display the HTML contents returned by the OGC WMS service. The user will not be able to use any of the WebOffice search result toolbar functions at all.
