Property

Description

Bing token

Usage of Bing services is feasible with a valid customer license only and with usage of so called token. WebOffice provides the functionality for using Bing services. Customer is responsible to ensure a valid license for using the Bing services on server side.

Service name (GUI)

Service name of Map Service displayed in the WebOffice client.

Metadata URL

Configure a reference to a metadata document (must be available via HTTP) as URL.

You may configure the unique Metadata document identifier (UUID) of a Catalog Service (CSW 2.0) here. For this you must configure the SOAP interface of the Catalog Services using Metadata display.

Metadata short description

Metadata short description shown as Tooltip.

Copyright

Service specific copyright text to be added to the configured project copyright if the map service contributes to the map. This information is displayed on the client and on the print/plot. Bing map services always have a standard copyright text displayed.

Note: The service specific copyright will only be displayed if the map element Copyright is configured.

Note: Detailed information about the use of this attributes can be found in chapters Print Format and WebOffice ePaper template.

Bing Maps Hybrid

Geographic Transformation Code/String

Geographic transformation code from WGS84 to the map coordinate system. Geographic transformation code. Codes are listed in <ArcGIS_Desktop_Installation_Folder>\Documentation\geographic_transformations.pdf or you may use the SynerGIS Projection Helper

E.g. use code 1618 for a transformation from Austrian MGI to WGS1984 used by Bing Maps, use e.g. 1673 for a transformation from German DHDN to WGS1984 used by Bing Maps.

If a custom transformation is used, the transformation string with parameters can be used. Copy and paste the readable content (not the binary content!) from the .gtf file. For a step by step Description on how to find a geographic transformation code or how to deal with custom projections and transformations, see chapter Projection.

Note: If the used map coordinate system/projection is WGS84 Web Mercator auxiliary sphere and the scales used by Bing Maps are configured, the map data will be fetched directly and will be presented using tiles for a fast usage.

Most detailed scale level

The most detailed scale level specifies to which Bing scale level Bing maps are available (this most detailed scale level significantly depends on the displayed area).

Hint: The Bing tiling scheme comprises 23 levels, level 1 is the most general (whole world), level 23 the most detailed with a scale of about 1:70, i.e. configuration values from 0 to 23 are valid. 0 specifies to request Bing maps for any scale. If a value between 1 and 23 is configured then WebOffice will only request Bing maps down to the configured most detailed scale level.

Timeout [ms]

Specifies the time [in milliseconds] to wait for the response of the map service to ensure the client always responds in a guaranteed time.

If the map service does not provide a response within this time limit, then the request is canceled and the web application proceeds. In that case, the web application considers the map service as not available.

Use like dynamic service?

Specify if the service (no matter whether dynamic or cached) is used like a dynamic map service.

Hint:

- It may be useful to ignore the tiling scheme of a map service in order to use scales that are not included in the tiling scheme of the cache.

Transparency when updating

Specifies the transparency for the tiles of the "old" map image if the map tiles of the "old" map image get replaced by the map tiles of the "new" map image in the context of a map update operation.

If the map cache contains transparent tiles then the value "85" is recommended, in all other cases the default setting ("0") is appropriate.

Check content?

Specifies whether images are to be checked for content availability. In the case of no content, higher lod levels are displayed at a lower resolution.

Note: If your application does not have direct access to the internet, be sure to configure your proxy settings in WebOffice application configuration for proper Bing Maps functionality. See chapter Proxy-Server for HTTP Requests.

If there are no further map images in a larger scale available, WebOffice 10 R3 enlarges the map images  from the 'last' scale to create a map image at the large scale.
