The measure/markup tools are placed next to the selection tools of the WebOffice html client's toolbar and comprise the following tools:

•Measure Point

•Measure Distance

•Measure Area

•Measure Perpendicular

•Measure Angle

•Markup

•Place Symbol

•Userdefined Labeling

 

Since measure drawings technically also count as redlinings the basic measure tools (point, distance, area) share a tool dialog with other redlining tools like Markup and Place Symbol. However, Measure Perpendicular, Measure Angle and Userdefined Labeling are different. Take a look to the specific chapters describing their tool functionality in the WebOffice html client.

 

As soon as you activate one of the basic measure tools (point, distance, area) the add redlining tool dialog opens that is divided into several segments:

Redlining Type

Within the tool dialog you can switch between the basic measure tools (point, distance, area) and redlining tools that offer you to place a text, circle or symbol into the map. Depending on the type you have chosen you will have various optional settings regarding the use of measuring, redlining style or text.

 

 

Redlining Style

All redlining types besides Symbol provide the option to choose your desired redlining style. Click on the color to open an additional dialog where you can either select your desired color freehand or by defining certain color values. Regulate stroke widths using the bar or providing a number.

 

 

You can also configure predefined markup styles for your WebOffice 10.9 R3 project, so the user can only choose between those styles. In this case, it is not possible anymore to choose colors or stroke widths.

Current Objects

In the next section of the tool dialog all currently existing objects get listed. By clicking the icons it is possible to delete, zoom to or edit them. Press the button Remove All to clear the list and delete all objects.

Pointsnap / Linesnap (only if configured)

If a snapping layer is configured in the WebOffice 10.9 R3 project configuration, an additional section Pointsnap will appear in the redlining tool dialog. There you can choose a snap layer from the list, define if you also want to be able to snap to redlinings as well and choose the tolerance. By default both pointsnap and linesnap (must be configured on Snap Layers) are enabled. With snapping extremely accurate measuring is made easy in the WebOffice html client.

 

 

Check the option Snap To Sketch in order to not only be able to snap to the selected snap layer but also to your redlinings drawn during your browser session. The Tolerance [m] defines how large the circle will be that surrounds your cursor and lets you snap to vertices. Snap vertices usually are displayed in blue and will turn orange if they are in the snapping range.

Measuring Context Menu

When measuring with point, distance, area or circle, several vertex manipulations are possible by using the context menu (right mouse click).
