Search Coordinates
Tool Search Coordinates"
Use the tool Search Coordinates to search for coordinates and project coordinates.
Note: Only selectable/identifiable layers will be available. For further details about the configuration in WebOffice author standalone, see chapter Layer Queries or use the respective wizard Define Selectable/Identifiable Layers.
Note: See chapter Select for more details about selection layer and mode.
The way the tool form is displayed depends on the configured coordinate systems. When using geographic coordinate systems (e.g. WGS84), the user has to enter latitude and longitude.

In case a projected coordinate system (e.g. WGS84 Web Mercator) is selected, the user has to enter X and Y coordinate.

It is also possible to display multiple coordinate systems in the tool form when configured in the project configuration. Coordinates will be projected to all coordinate systems automatically. The user can manually change coordinates in one of the displayed coordinate systems and dynamically recalculate them for the others by clicking the arrow button next to the input box. Additionally, the user can zoom/pan to the specified coordinates by clicking the respective buttons. Use the button Add to Markup in order to label the selected position with one or more of the available projections. Depending on configuration it is also possible to label the name of the projection.
Note: Use the tool Clear Selection to remove any markups that were added to the map this way.

For a better overview of the projections it is possible to configure categories for projections.

If the user wants to search for coordinates in a different coordinate system than the one of the project, it must be selected from the dropdown list. In a next step the user has to enter the coordinates into the respective input boxes (X/Y coordinate or latitude/longitude). With a click on the button Reproject, the coordinates will be displayed in the projection of the main map service. The user can also retrieve the coordinates of a certain position in the map with a click. They will be displayed for both the selected coordinate system and the main map service projection together with a marker. Use the buttons Pan to/Zoom to to locate the marker.
Note: See chapter Markup for more details about markups.
Note: In order to position markers directly on a specific object, use the snap function. See chapter Snap Layers for details about snap layers.

The tool works the same way, if the parameter All Projections is activated. Either automatically reproject coordinates by clicking into the map or enter coordinates manually for a specific coordinate system and press Pan to/Zoom to.
