UserManagement Staging with WebOffice author

The wizard UserMangement Database is used to support you rolling out your application from staging to production system (Go Live!), including the actualizing of the UserManagement Database, which may differ from staging to production system. The UserManagement Database wizard may also be used to transfer a UserManagement database from one platform to another (i.e. from Oracle to MS Access).

Step by step instruction for a Go Live! scenario using the UserManagement Database wizard:

 

1)Open the UserManagement Database dialog

2)Choose the scenario (Go Live!) and profiles

3)Change the server- and database-connection of the production system

 

Insert the map service, URL and database connection inside the UserManagement Database wizard

4)Apply the settings and save the backup file (done automatically when finishing the wizard)

5)Change to your production application profile

6)Deactivate the option Synchronize to UserManagement database inside the WebOffice author Basic Settings.

7)Change to the Staging application profile

8)Open one of your projects

9)Change to the Production application profile

10)Change the map service connections and URLs using the project-based Staging support and change your database connections if necessary

11)Save your project

12)Repeat the steps 7 to 11 for each of your projects

13)Activate the Synchronize to UserManagement Database function

14)Re-open your project(s) and review the connections

15)Save your project(s) again (with synchronization)

 

Attention! „Go Live!“ always overwrites the whole Production UserManagement Database. The Staging system has to include ALL informationen of the Production system.
