Open the mxd referenced by your project configuration. Switch to the Layout View of ArcMap and open the WebOffice plot author toolbar. Open the layout file you want to add an attribute table to. Select all not needed data frames on the layout, except the overview, place them minimized outside the layout.

 

 

Select some features from the layer you want to display the attribute table from and insert a layout attribute table by using the tool from the WebOffice plot author toolbar.

 

 

Define the layer and columns and customize the display in the object properties dialog. Place the table on the layout and save your layout file.
