It is possible to use an index full text search in multiple layers of your WebOffice 10.8 SP2 project. Technically it is based on the full text search index on the Solr-Framework. Solr is a popular and fast Open Source Enterprise Search Platform, based on Apache Lucene™ technology.
Notes:
Please find more technical information on the Website of Apache Solr.
WebOffice FTS-Index in WebOffice 10.8 SP2 uses the most recent 8.6.x.
It does not make a difference for the functionality of the full text search in WebOffice 10.8 SP2, if WebOffice FTS-Index is installed as a WebContainer in Apache, aStand-Alone Solr Installation or as a SolrCloud with LoadBalancing.
For WebOffice 10.8 SP2 Stand-Alone Solr or SolrCloud with LoadBalancing is intended.
Caution:
WebOffice FTS-Index as a WebContainer in Apache will not be supported in WebOffice 10.8 SP2 anymore. It is however possible to use the modern WebOffice FTS-Index (Solr Version 7.x, d.h. Solr Stand-Alone oder SolrCloud) in an older WebOffice version.
Note:
See chapter Problems Related to Full-Text Search if problems occur regarding the full-text search.
