The GUI resp. the structure of the WebOffice core client has been totally re-designed and transmits the advantages of the 'Look & Feel' from known desktop applications in the web. The design of the WebOffice core client is based on the concept of ribbons. Ribbons are kind of a toolbar that combine menus and toolbars in one status bar. Additionally the WebOffice core client provides a context menu (right mouse click) for having quick access to the most used tools and functionality. The dynamic processing of information gives the feeling of a desktop application in the web.

The advantages of the WebOffice core client are listed as follows:

Usage of common functionality in context menu (right mouse click)

User defined configuration of common tools via ribbons

Hide/show specific elements of the GUI for getting a full view of the map

Smooth map navigation (zoom/pan)

Powerful map application

The WebOffice core client is called via the additional parameter &client=core, e.g. http://<server>:[port]/<WebOffice application>/synserver?project=WebOffice_SampleProject&client=core
