Note: WebOffice 10.3 SP2 supports ArcGIS 10.3 and ArcGIS 10.3.1 (as well as ArcGIS 10.2.1 and 10.2.2).

Important Note: SynerGIS recommends the installation of WebOffice 10.3 SP2. The installation of WebOffice 10.3 (core version) is supported on released ArcGIS 10.2.1/10.2.2, but not for ArcGIS 10.3 due to the following reasons:

It is not possible to publish OGC services on a server operating system with European language settings without any errors -> Esri BUG NIM000084759.
Caused by some changes in the Esri base technology, the WebOffice extensions components for ArcGIS 10.3 (plot, ePaper, extract server) are currently not available.

It is because of these reasons, that WebOffice 10.3 (core version) - if combined with ArcGIS 10.3 - is delivered without WebOffice extensions. So the output functionality of WebOffice 10.3 (core version) with ArcGIS 10.3 is limited to Esri Print standards.

All other functionalities are guaranteed in all supported versions.

The subsequent chapters provide information about the server-side requirements for a successful WebOffice 10.3 SP2 installation.

Operating System (OS) has to be a Microsoft Windows platform since WebOffice 10.3 SP2 is based on Esri ArcGIS 10.3 for Server which is supported for Windows.
For managing your data we recommend the usage of a RDBMS, further notes in Database (optional).
ArcGIS 10.3 for Server (recommended for ArcGIS 10.3.1 for Server, but also works for ArcGIS 10.2.1 / 10.2.2 / 10.3) provides the services which will be used by WebOffice 10.3 SP2.
ArcGIS 10.3 for Desktop (recommended for ArcGIS 10.3.1 for Desktop, but also works for ArcGIS 10.2.1 / 10.2.2 / 10.3) needs to be installed on the administrative computer since WebOffice author is an extension for ArcMap.
ArcSDE (optional) has to be used whenever web editing is required.
Java will be used on the web application server. Java SE Development Kit 8u66 (64bit) is certified for WebOffice 10.3 SP2 and will be installed prior to the WebOffice 10.3 SP2 installation on the web application server (Default path: C:\Program Files\Java).
Apache Tomcat is recommended and certified as the servlet engine for WebOffice 10.3 SP2 . Therefore, prior to the installation of WebOffice 10.3 SP2, the certified version Apache Tomcat 8.0.29 will be installed by SynerGIS on the web application server (recommended default path: C:\Tomcat).

Note: In order to meet the memory requirements of WebOffice 10.3 SP2 the default memory settings (Maximum Memory Pool) of the JVM used by Tomcat have to be increased. This is not a WebOffice 10.3 SP2 specific setting but applies to all Java web applications in general.

Apache Tomcat Connector (Optional) will be installed to use IIS as web server for WebOffice 10.3 SP2 projects. This way, WebOffice 10.3 SP2 projects can be accessed via port 80 instead of the Tomcat default port (8080). (default path: C:\Tomcat\bin\win).
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 is required on the administrative computer where WebOffice author will be installed.
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 and Internet Information Services (IIS) with ASP.NET package are required on the server where UserManagement Admin Web will be installed.
