Backup

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Backing up key server configuration files before uninstalling ArcGIS Server 10 and WebOffice 10R3 is extremely important! Create a folder where all WebOffice 10R3 backup files will be stored, e.g. under C:\Temp\WebOffice10R3_Backup.

Note: A list of important ArcGIS Server 10 configuration files to be backed up you can find  in the ArcGIS Resources - Migration checklist.

Regarding WebOffice, please make sure to back up a copy of the following files into the folder created before:

the entire Apache Tomcat directory usually installed under C:\Tomcat
the ServiceDocuments directory containing your MXD documents at <ArcGIS server location>\ServiceDocuments
relevant cache folders of your cached map services located at <ArcGIS server location>\arcgiscache. When using the caches later on in WebOffice 10.2 SP3 see chapter Cache Migration for further information.
WebOffice plotten template directory usually installed under <ArcGIS server location>\WebOfficePlotTemplates
WebOffice ePaper template directory usually installed under <ArcGIS server location>\WebOfficeePaperTemplates
WebOffice export configuration directory usually installed under <ArcGIS server location>\WebOfficeExport
the exported XML file of your usermanagement database. See User Management Database for information how to save a backup XML file of your database.
the exported PROFILE file of your application profiles. See Application Profiles for information how to export application profiles.

Note: WebOffice 10R3 application configuration, project configurations and usermanagement database dump (optionally) will serve as input for the WebOffice 10.2 Migration Tool. Associated files (like plot templates, images used in projects, etc) will be reused with WebOffice 10.2.

Note: In order to re-use the templates for WebOffice plotten and WebOffice ePaper with WebOffice 10.2 SP3, consider to copy SynPlotService.mxd (WebOffice10.2-DVD\Software\WebOffice extensions\WebOfficeePlotTemplates) and SynePaperService.mxd (WebOffice10.2-DVD\Software\WebOffice extensions\WebOfficeePaperTemplates) the the templates directory. Please find more details in chapter Publish the SynOutputService.
