Joins and Relates
Basically WebOffice 10.9 R4 supports two types of joins and relates:
•Joins/relates configured in WebOffice
•Joins/relates configured in ArcMap
If possible always prefer WebOffice joins/relates to ArcMap joins/relates. Thus, you can directly access the database table without needing to include ArcGIS Server. Therefore, performance of WebOffice joins/relates is a lot better than of ArcMap joins/relates provided that your tables reside in an enterprise geodatabase (e.g. SDE).
In case your tables are located in, e.g. a FGDB then you can use WebOffice joins/relates to use these tables in WebOffice. Keep in mind that this type of configuration may cause performance problems.
WebOffice 10.9 R4 supports ArcMap joins/relates
•between a layer and a table
•between two layers
•When using ArcMap joins/relates you have to decide whether you want to register the geodatabase that holds your table or you want to copy the data to the server. •If a join/relate is defined between two layers, both layers have to be in the same data frame. All other configurations are not supported by WebOffice 10.9 R4. • WebOffice 10.9 R4 supports resolving the first level of relations coming from ArcGIS relationship classes. Be aware that relationship classes in general have a negative impact on the performance. •When configuring WebOffice Joins, only the first join of the configuration can be included in the search result. If several joins are required at the same time, the data can be joined in the database or a combination of ArcMap Join and WebOffice Join can be performed. |
ArcMap joins/relates will automatically be transferred to WebOffice 10.9 R4. If more than one join or relate are defined on one layer, only the first one will be transferred to WebOffice 10.9 R4. The column width of the ArcMap join/relate result is by default 25 and cannot be extended. It is possible to define the order and the visibility of the fields of a relate result in the table properties or layer properties in the tab Fields of ArcMap.
If you have configured an ArcMap relates which you do not want to show in your WebOffice 10.9 R4 project, you can disable the relate on WebOffice 10.9 R4 level in Layer Queries. |
