The ribbon bar provides all configured tools of the project. These can be activated with a mouse click. The configuration settings of the tool open dynamically in the ribbon. For some tools with many configuration options, it is possible that the tools activate a dynamic tab when activated.

The grouping of tools is done on the one hand by using tabs and on the other hand by using tool groupings in the WebOffice 10.9 R4 core client. Tabs can be used to map activities in the project and tool groupings are used to organize related tools.

Any tools, that are not configured for a ribbon, will appear in an additional ribbon called Remaining tools, but can be used by the user via this tab.

Many tools, that need further user input or configuration, activate those settings in the tab or creates a dynamic tab with additional options. For some tools, a dialog box can also appear by default at the top right corner of the map area when the tool is activated. It is not possible to have two tools activated at the same time, i.e. as soon as an additional tool is activated, the previous tool is closed.
