Elevation layer configuration
Note: For 3D measuring capability the configuration of an elevation layer is mandatory. The elevation layer has to be a raster DEM (no TINs supported) of an Esri-supported raster data type and has to contain the elevation information in a specified raster band. The coordinate system has to be projected and metric (elevation information have to be metric, too).
With Release Version 10 R3 SP4 the raster dataset can be in a different coordinate system than the main map service (projection-on-the-fly is supported).
