You can quickly build a map cache from the WebOffice 10 R3 Sample Project using the map cache tiling scheme file WebOffice_SampleProject_TilingScheme.xml.

You can find the map cache tiling scheme file in the projects directory of the Sample Project folder on your installation media.

The tiling scheme specifies the

Map cache origin,

The tile size [pixels],

The LOD list (Levels of Detail),

The geographic reference used for the cache.

For generating the map cache,

Enter the Service properties of the WebOffice_SampleProject map service in ArcCatalog,

Creating the Cache will take about 15-20 minutes now.

When the Cache creation has successfully finished, please restart Apache Tomcat service.

You can now run the WebOffice 10 R3 Sample Project and use exactly the same functions and tools as with the dynamic service. Anyway, map display will be much faster as no dynamic map images need to be created any more.

Note that the scale list in the WebOffice 10 R3 client will provide the Levels of Detail specified in the Cache Tiling Scheme only, i.e. it is not possible to use a scale different from one of the Levels of Detail.

Note that in the Table of Content the layers of the cached map service cannot be switched visible or invisible anymore because the Cache is a single fused cache.
