Prepare your Map Document

Check the map document does open properly on the ArcGIS Server machine (open it locally – this way you easily find broken data source links, missing fonts etc) and save it to <ArcGIS Server Location>\ServiceDocuments folder on the ArcGIS Server machine. This folder is the central folder for all ArcMap documents published with ArcGIS Server.

Note: For productive systems it is recommended not to use the Service Documents location but a local mxd editing location and to update mxds using the ‘Refresh Project’ button of WebOffice author. See WebOffice10R3_UserManual.pdf, chapter File Menu for details.
