Configure a Google Earth © widget

This custom tool allows the end user to configure the Google Earth © widget for the WebOffice core client. When executing the custom tool, Google Earth © is displayed in a new tab / window by using the currently used center point in the client to center the displayed map in Google Earth ©.

 

Note: Currently, the new Google Earth © is supported only by the browser Google Chrome. When using another browser, Google Earth © can not be started.

 

(1) Web-Integration - custom Tool

Configure a Web integration - custom tool with the following parameters:

URL of external page: pub/custom_tools/GoogleEarthWidget.htm

Tool tip: any desired name

Tool Icon: pub/images/customtool_google_earth.png

Visible in Clients: Desktop Clients only (since it is programmed only for WebOffice core client)

(2) Static Custom Tool

Configure a Static Custom Tool. At the node Application with static Hyperlink configure the Display mode IFrame with window type hidden. As a result an empty window is not shown when executing the custom tool in WebOffice core client.

Result: Execution of the Custom Tool in WebOffice core client after which a new tab/window opens, in which Google Earth ©  is called.

Note: The initial tilt in Google Earth © can be set in the admin part of the file GoogleEarthWidget.htm. Values between 0 - no tilt-, and 100 has proved as useful).
