WebOffice flex Client

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The WebOffice flex client is delivered with the WebOffice Release 10.5 as a so-called "Public Beta". It is optimized to answer vertical questions, is easy to use and has been developed for fast and attractive map presentation. In addition to this positioning, which also has been applied to the flash-based WebOffice flex (flash) client, there are more paradigms that apply to the flexible WebOffice flex client:

Running without Flash plug-in – There is no need to install plug-ins to use the WebOffice flex client. It is based on ArcGIS API for JavaScript 4.x on the client-side, which is a programming interface of Esri Inc.

Touch first – The new graphical user interface is based on current web trends to guarantee a modern user experience and is optimized for touch-enabled devices. Due to the support of a cross-platform map handler, it is also possible to operate the client via mouse.

Optimized for the use on large mobile devices (>= 7.9 "; resolution >= 1024 * 768px)

Use of geodata in 2D map presentation or 3D scene presentation.

The main application areas for the WebOffice flex client are presentation applications for the validation of spatial data as well as citizens' GIS applications.

What’s New in WebOffice flex client:

•        Presentation of 3D views

Use of 3D view in WebOffice flex client

Use of 3D view in WebOffice flex client

Please note that the WebOffice flex client, which is constantly being updated, does not yet offer the full functionality as the currently, flash-based WebOffice flex (flash). Features, which are not yet implemented (list will be upgraded regularly in the online user manual) are the following:

Creating (i.e. editing) of points

Clustering

Support of different units for measuring

Note: See chapter WebOffice flex (flash) Client for information about the flex client based on Adobe Flash.
