Geolocators provide a simple one line address search comparable to Google or Microsoft Bing address searches. One line inputs (e.g. Technologiestrasse 10, 1120 Vienna) will be geocoded and shown in the map.
An address search using free available geolocator services (e.g. Esri World geolocator) gives the opportunity to provide address search with high accuracy without the need of own address data.
Important Note: SynerGIS Informationssysteme GmbH implements the support for Esri World Geolocator to the best of one's knowledge. Nonetheless, SynerGIS Informationssysteme GmbH does not have any influence on possible changes by Esri and, therefore, can not take any warranty for this function.

Geolocators configuration
Properties |
Description |
Display Name (GUI) |
Name of the table in the user interface. |
Use Full extent limits? |
Specifies if the project full extent shall be used as spatial filter in the geolocator query. Using the full extent as spatial filter is recommended to optimize the precision of the geolocator query results. |
Map view for geolocator result |
Defines a specific map view to be used for displaying geolocator results. If not configured, the search result gets displayed using the current map view. |
Geographic Transformation Code/String |
Geographic transformation code from WGS84 to the map coordinate system. Can be reviewed in ArcGIS_Desktop_Installation_Folder\Documentation\geographic_transformations.pdf. If a custom transformation is used, the transformation string with parameters can be used. Copy and paste from the .gtf file is recommended. Hint: If a geotransformation is already defined on the data frame of the main map service then the geotansformation configured here will not be applied. |
Country |
Specifies for which country an address is to be searched. The country is identified with 3 letters according to the "ISO 3166 3-letter" encoding ("DEU" for germany, "AUT" for Austria, "CHE" for Switzerland). For further country codes, see e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-1_alpha-3 Note: Use the "|" symbol for separating several countries (e.g.AUT|DEU|CHE) The default value "*" allows a search on all countries. |
Reference Scale |
Scale to be used for displaying search results (especially single hits). If "0" is provided, the value defined on project level will be used. Note: See chapter Display if you want to change the project specific reference scale. |
Dynamic selection display? |
Specifies whether map selection display gets rendered using dynamic animated selection symbols (Yes) or not (No). Note: Dynamic selection display only works if a Dynamic Selection is configured on project level. |
Reverse Geocoding? |
Specifies, if reverse geocoding requests can be used. Note: To use the reverse geocoding function in your WebOffice html client, be sure to configure the Identify tool. Reverse geocoding only works for the identify tool, not for rectangle, line, periphery or polygon selection. |
Geolocator properties
Note: The geolocator represents the results in WGS84. If you realize some mismatch/offset in the geolocator result in WebOffice 10.4 SP2 clients, you will have to define the proper transformation to WGS84 on the main map service in ArcMap. After that restart the map service and reload resources.
Note: If the transformation will not be accepted then the current coordinate system needs to be changed in 'WGS 1984 Web Mercator (auxiliary sphere)'.

Configuration of the transformation to the geolocator in ArcMap
Note: In order to provide a geolocator search in your WebOffice 10.4 SP2 project you need to configure a geolocator service. See chapter Geolocator Service for details.
Note: Define a geolocator query together with your desired result fields. See chapter Geolocator Query for details.
Note: Specifiy the selection display of the geolocator in Point Symbology.
Note: Specify a certain search extent in Search Extent.
Note: Please find more details about the geolocator query in the WebOffice html client in chapter Geolocator Query.
