Clustering
Clustering is a way to symbolize point data in a generalized way without too much loss of information. Using Clustering you are able to display a symbolization of point features through all scale levels. Clustering is perfect to show a frequency distribution of point features. Gaining information about the features using the MapTip functionality is useful down to a much smaller scale level.

Property |
Description |
---|---|
Display Clustering? |
Specifies if the layer is displayed with point-clustering Yes or not No |
Cluster tolerance |
Cluster tolerance in pixel specifies if a point with a certain pixel distance will get part of a cluster or not. This way it is possible to control the count of cluster symbols displayed on the screen. |
Clusterlimit for Activation |
Limit to where a cluster can get activated and queried |
Minimum scale |
Minimum scale up to where features are clustered and drawn as one cluster object on the map. Default value 0 means no limitation. |
Maximum scale |
Maximum scale to where features are clustered and drawn as one cluster object on the map. Default value 0 means no limitation. |
Clustering configuration
•Clustering works for point layers only. •We recommend to configure Clustering for one layer only. •Clustering is not convenient for feature classes with more than 10,000 features. If necessary, this value must also be readjusted on the map service in ArcGIS Server Manager. •Clustering only works, if the fields OBJECTID and SHAPE are activated in the feature class. •Data restrictions (filters, time and range sliders) do not apply to clustering! |
There are several options to exactly define the look of the defined Clusters in the Cluster Display options.
