Speeding Up Startup Time of WebOffice Projects

In order to speed up the start process of the WebOffice 10.9 SP1 clients when starting a specific project configuration (minimize load time), the project configuration and the server resources (ArcGIS Server services) used in the project configuration get initialized as soon as the WebOffice 10.9 SP1 web application is started. The initialization process works as a low priority background process to avoid that it affects concurrent user requests. Therefore, if you e.g. start the Tomcat service, WebOffice 10.9 SP1 immediately tries to access ArcGIS Server. If trying to establish an ArcGIS server connection is not successful, WebOffice 10.9 SP1 tries to repeatedly reconnect again.

Using this concept of doing the time and server resource intensive initialization process BEFORE the first user starts a project using one of the WebOffice 10.9 SP1 clients, yields good response times no matter when the user accesses a WebOffice 10.9 SP1 project.
