Edit tool in the WebOffice flex client

The Edit tool enables various editing operations in the WebOffice flex client.

Editing features

In general features consist of two different kind of information - geometry and attributes. The edit tool can be configured to edit both information or only one of it.

The geometry is built by vertices, one vertex for points, multiple vertices for lines and polygons.

Note: Currently there are three editing actions (create, modify and delete) available in the WebOffice flex client.

Attribute data can be inserted and changed via a separate attribute form, which opens in the left area of the map.

Note: For more information about the attribute form, please see the chapter Editing Attributes.

Note: For further information on how to configure editing fields, please see the chapter Editing Field of the WebOffice author standalone.

A click on the tool opens a list of the configured editing layers.

In the WebOffice flex Client, the overview of the editing topics is reached via Cancel editing.

If the selected layer is a point layer, a point can be created at the desired position by clicking on it. The last geometry change can be undone in the notification window. A double click or pressing the check mark, which is located above the last edited geometry, completes the process.

If a line object should be created, at least two vertex points must be set. When using a computer mouse, the segment length and the total length of the object are displayed next to the mouse pointer.

If an area object should be created, at least three vertex points must be set. When using a computer mouse, the segment length and area of the object are displayed next to the mouse pointer.

Right-clicking on a set vertex allows you to insert a vertex before or after it or remove the selected vertex.

If Show Crosshair is configured for the WebOffice mobile or the WebOffice flex Client, the user moves a crosshair instead of a mouse pointer. Above the crosshair is a constant bar which can be used to activate Add Vertex", Undo Step", Select Point", Toggle Snapping or to Accept the editing action.

Once a vertex has been created and marked with the crosshair, Select Point adds the following options to the toolbar: Deselect Point", Move Point", Insert Before", Insert After and Delete vertex".

After finishing the geometry the attributes of the object can be defined. Only those fields are displayed which are configured in the editing field list. Fields with a red asterisk are mandatory fields which must be filled in order to create the object by clicking Apply.
