Migration of Layout Templates to ArcGIS Pro
Existing custom print templates based on the WebOffice Extensions have to be migrated from ArcMap based (*.layout files) to ArcGIS Pro based print templates (*.pagx files).
|
The original use of a layout attribute table in the SOE Legacy Print is no longer possible with VertiGIS Studio Printing Engine and must be deleted before migration. Instead, a static attribute table can be configured in the print template. |
|
•For more information on configuring the template for exporting static tables, see the chapter Configure PAGX Print Template for Export of Static Tables |
The following steps have to be performed:
1.For each layout file (e.g. from directory C:\arcgisserver\directories\WebOfficePlotTemplates) a new MXD has to be created in ArcMap.
2.Now open ArcGIS Pro and import the layout from the previously saved MXD using the Import Layout File function.

3.The next step is to make adjustments to the template. Change the name designations for the following elements in the topic tree (see also chapter Map frame):
overview Map Frame --> OVERVIEW
print Map Frame --> WEBMAP_MAP_FRAME

4.Now adjust all elements listed in the table of content according to the following scheme (as shown in the screenshot).

5.Afterwards the template has to be selected in the table of content with a right click and the option Save as layout file has to be selected.

Save as layer file
These layout files must be stored under the following path:
C:\arcgisserver\directories\VertiGIS_PrintLayouts

With WebOffice 10.9 SP1 the proprietary printing fields WebOffice Plot (Legacy) have been transferred to the new VertiGIS Printing.
Some fields will be filled directly in the Printing Tool Service (and no longer in WebOffice) using ESRI technology. The fields listed below are no longer needed during configuration as they will be replaced by ArcGIS Pro functions.
The previously used function fields syn_scalebar_nms and syn_scalebar_web will be replaced by an ArcGIS Pro Scale bar of type Scale Line.

The function fields syn_dyn_legend will be replaced by an ArcGIS Pro Legend with reference to the WEB_MAP_FRAME.
Starting with WebOffice 10.9 SP1 a legend can be added via the VertiGIS Printing Add-In in the WebOffice author standalone. This allows to add this legend as static graphic to the existing print template.
