Clean up UM-DB
The Clean up UM-DB dialog is used to clean up specific map services or dead layers within the WebOffice usermanagement.
Clean up UM-DB within WebOffice author standalone
After opening the wizard, select how you want to clean up the UMDB.
Here you have the possibility to clean up map services or layers in the UM-DB that are no longer used or needed with the option Clean up referenced map service or referenced layers in the UM-DB.
Furthermore it is possible to display all referenced layers in the UM-DB either for all or for the current project.
Choose cleanup type
1) Clean up orphaned service/layers from the UM-DB
The first step is to choose the specific map service which should be cleaned up within the user management database:

After selection of the map service the user has the option to choose one of the following actions:
•Completely remove map service from UM-DB
•Check the map service layers and clean UM-DB

1a) Action: Completely remove map service from UM-DB
1. Map service: After the selection of the desired map service within the shortlist the user has to choose the action remove map service completly form the UserManagement. Afterward click on the Next button.
2. Consequences: The tool checks if the desired map service is referenced within a project in the UserManagement. If this is the case all used projects will be listed. Please check within the list, if the deletion of the specific map service of the UserManagement has no negative affects of current available projects.

3. Finish: The final step shows the summary of which projects the selected map service will be deleted. If you decide at this step that you don't want clean the map service within the UserManagement, you can click on the button Cancel. Otherwise you can choose the button Finish to complete the clean up process.

1b) Action: Check the map service layers and clean UM-DB
2. Map service: After the selection of the desired map service within the shortlist the user has the option to choose the action Chekc whether UM-DB layers exist in map service and clean up UM-DB. Afterward click on the Next button.
3. Consequences: Within this step the WebOffice author standalone checks if the map service is available or not. If the map service isn't available the user will get a notification that the map service is unavailable. Afterwards the user can choose between two options:
•Map service does not exist - Cancel: With this option the wizard will be canceled if the button Next is clicked.
•Completely remove map service: With this option the selected map service including the associated topic and restrictions will be deleted. With the click on the button Next you will step further to the next step which gives the user a summary.

4. Step: If the map service is available the step 3 will be skipped and the user will be directed to the next step. In this step the dead layers of the user management database will be listed which will be deleted within this action. All layers which are listed within the UserManagement and not listed within the map services will be shown.

5. Step: The last step shows the summery of the dead layers which will be deleted out of the UserManagement. The shown summary will be written into the WebOffice author standalone Logfile, which can be opened by clicking on the yellow information box at the top of the WebOffice author standalone. If you decide at this step that you don't want clean the dead layers of the user management database, you can click on the button Cancel. Otherwise you can choose the button Finish to complete the clean up process.

2) Clean up orphaned references from the UM-DB for all projects
This option can be used to clean up orphaned references across all projects of the application.
In step 2 the cleanup objects are selected. Services, map views, layers/tables from map services as well as tables connected via JDBC can be cleaned.

In step 3, all orphaned references from the previously selected categories are selected. Initially, all references are selected and marked for cleaning. By deselecting the checkboxes, references can be excluded from the cleanup.
By clicking on the Export button, the list of references to be cleaned up can be exported as a TXT file.
By clicking on Done, the cleanup is performed according to the settings made.

3) Clean up orphaned references from the UM-DB for the current project
This option can only be selected if a project is open in Weboffice Author. The further steps are analogous to the option Clean up orphaned references from the UM-DB for all projects.
