Problems uninstalling Author Standalone

Under certain circumstances, the WebOffice author standalone may no longer be able to be uninstalled. When installing a newer version of the WebOffice author standalone, there are then 2 entries under the programs that cannot be uninstalled.

2 Installations of WebOffice author standalone

2 Installations of WebOffice author standalone

This can occur when upgrading ArcGIS Pro without first uninstalling the WebOffice author standalone. This behavior has already been fixed in the newer versions of the WebOffice author standalone, but still occurs in the following scenarios:

1.Version of the WebOffice author standalone 10.8 < 108.1.2.30
and
Upgrade ArcGIS Pro from version 2.6 (or not installed) -> ArcGIS Pro 2.7
or
ArcGIS Pro 2.7 -> not installed

2.Version of WebOffice author standalone 10.9 < 109.0.0.13
and
Upgrade ArcGIS Pro from version 2.6 (or not installed) -> ArcGIS Pro 2.7/2.8
or
ArcGIS Pro 2.7/2.8 -> not installed

In general, this problem can be worked around by uninstalling the WebOffice author standalone BEFORE the upgrade of ArcGIS Pro takes place. If the problem already exists, it can be fixed by following the steps below:
