The Printing (Legacy) tool enables users to generate high quality print output in various different file formats, layout page sizes and resolutions. Support for dynamic text fields and simple reporting of attribute data of selected objects is included.

Templates

Choose one of the configured print templates from the drop-down list. If no specific print template has been configured in the WebOffice 10.9 R4 project configuration, then all existing print template files of the WebOffice plot directory (<ArcGIS Server location>\directories\WebOfficePlotTemplates) will be listed. Otherwise, only the explicitly configured templates will be shown.

Print Type

Select one of the configured print file output formats.

Print Scale

Either choose one of the provided predefined scales or enter a free scale. If configured in the Print Scales the user has the option to choose

Current Extent, which takes the visible extent and adjusts the printing scale

Current Scale on the other hand take the currently set scale and adjusts the extent

icon_comment

It is allowed to print in larger scales than the level of detail of a used cached map service.

If a free scale is set during the configuration of the print scales at Template (file name) in WebOffice 10.9 R4 and no print scale is selected in the selection list, the currently active scale in the map view will be used for printing.

A comfortable function during the printing (Legacy) process in WebOffice 10.9 R4 is to draw a print area with free scale by selecting a rectangle. This can be easily done by activating the button Define extent. The printed area is then automatically adjusted to the format of the print template.

Print Page Overlap

For serial prints, an overlap of the individual print pages can be specified. Set the percentage of print page overlapping either with the slider or by entering a specific number.

Rotation

Allows you to set an angle to rotate the map extent for a better visualization of your objects. Control the rotation either with the slider or by entering a specific angle.

High Resolution Print

Check high quality printing if you want to plot the map with a resolution higher than the standard screen resolution. High quality prints need much more system resources than prints with default quality.

Dynamic Texts

In the print tool form you find a set of fields (e.g. title, creator) you can populate with information. This information then gets displayed on the print output.

Use the Define Extent button to manually place the print extent by clicking, holding, and moving the left mouse button.

If a series print is configured, instead of the button Define Extent the Series Print button appears, which allows you to draw a print area on the map after selecting a print scale.

icon_comment

The button Define Extent is only available if the free scale selection on the respective Print template is configured.

For detailed information about the series print option, please see chapter Print Series.

core_print6

The button Save saves the currently selected spatial print area. A print area including the settings for print scale, resolution, output type, print rotation and print projection is saved for each print template.

icon_comment

One print area can be saved per print template (unclear if this should be mentioned).

A saved print area can be saved when changing the settings by clicking on the button Save button to overwrite it.

Print areas cannot be saved for serial or index printing.

core_print7

With the button Load the previously saved print area including all settings can be loaded.
