With WebOffice 10.9 R3 it is possible to display a ArcGIS Web Scene, which is especially useful to make 3D data available for visualization and analysis purposes. ArcGIS Web Scene is implemented in WebOffice 10.9 R3 as a custom tool based on a script API.

Clicking on the configured Web scene button opens a window, which stretches over the right half of the main map area. In addition, the Ribbons and Project Center are hidden to enlarge the main map area.

Navigation in the Web scene window can be done using mouse and navigation elements located at the upper left edge of the Web Scene window. In addition, different functions are offered for the Web Scene, which can be selected in the left area of the window. In addition, WebScene Slides, which are comparable to Geobookmarks and thus make it possible to navigate simply and fast to configured map extents, can be used. Furthermore WebScene provides different functions, which can be found on the left side of the WebScene window.

WebScene Slides - WebScene Slides are comparable with Geobookmarks. By clicking a WebScene Slide it is possible that the camera moves to a configured map extent. Thus often used map views can be called up very fast end simple.

Line of sight - This tool can be used to determine the visibility of target points, starting from a specific point. By displaying the line of sight between the starting point and the respective destination points, the colour of the line segment can be used to quickly identify where a possible obstacle to visibility is located.

Performance Info - This tool can be used to show detailed performance data of the displayed resources

Building Explorer - With this tool, building data from BIM models can be displayed in a clearly arranged way. Different construction phases, levels or categories can be selected for display.

Elevation Profile - The Elevation Profile widget is used to generate and display an elevation profile from an input line graph. The widget is configured to display two elevation profile lines, one for the ground and one for the buildings.

The FloorFilter widget simplifies the visualization of GIS data for a specific floor of a building. It is possible to filter down floor plan data from a MapView or SceneView to a location, a facility in the location, or a floor in the facility.

Note: To enable this functionality, the underlying map must be floor-aware. For more information, see the Floor-Aware Maps chapter

 

OpenStreetMap 3D Buildings

Since WebOffice 10.9 R3 the use of non-secured service types published on ArcGIS are supported. The usage of the new parameter 'url' in the ArcGIS WebScene custom tool, causes this change. So e.g. OpenStreetMap 3D Buildings can be applied to the project.

Note: If Map Rotation is used in the WebOffice core client, the current rotation also affects the custom tool (and vice versa). The current rotation is also automatically applied when the custom tool is opened. For more information on configuring the map rotation functionality in the WebOffice core client see Map Rotation.

Note: WebGL is not in supported in Internet Explorer 11. Because of that WebScenes are not supported in Internet Explorer 11. For more information see chapter Clientside requirements.
